Personalization

The right page for every visitor

A welcome offer for first-timers, a loyalty offer for returning customers, a mobile-only hero on phones, the advertised product for people arriving from an ad. Define an audience once, reuse it everywhere; when no rule matches, the visitor always sees your default content.

The right page for

One storefront does not fit everyone

Someone visiting your store for the first time is not looking for the same thing as someone on their third visit. Personalization lets you attach a 'who sees this?' rule to any section in the page editor: show it only to a certain audience, hide it from them, or give them a different headline, image or offer. Audiences are built from visitor traits — new or returning, how many visits, device, signed in or not, which UTM source they came from, even the time of day. If you have the CRM plugin, the same rules can also use your CRM segments and dealer groups. When no rule matches, the page renders exactly as it always did, so no visitor ever lands on an empty section.

What personalization can do

'Who sees this?' on every section
01

'Who sees this?' on every section

Pick a section in the page editor, choose an audience and a behaviour: show only, hide, or show different content. Rules are read top to bottom and the first match wins; a hide rule always takes precedence.

New vs. returning visitors
02

New vs. returning visitors

Offer a discount to first-timers and your loyalty programme to people on their third visit. Visit counts are tracked automatically, so thresholds like 'at least 3 visits' just work.

Ad traffic sees the advertised product
03

Ad traffic sees the advertised product

Target by UTM source, medium and campaign. Someone arriving from your Instagram campaign lands straight on that campaign's hero; organic traffic sees the normal homepage.

CRM segments and dealer groups
04

CRM segments and dealer groups

With the CRM plugin you can target segments like 'Champions' or 'At risk'. Your B2B dealer groups work the same way — wholesale banner for dealers, normal storefront for retail.

Popups and campaign banners too
05

Popups and campaign banners too

Show the popup only to new visitors and leave your loyal customers alone. Campaign banners are page sections, so they take the same audiences.

Day and time windows
06

Day and time windows

Show different content on chosen days and between chosen hours. Windows that cross midnight (22:00–02:00) are supported, and they follow your store's timezone, not the visitor's.

How it works

Four steps from audience to live

Everything you need for your first personalized section

1

Define the audience

Open Personalization, create an audience, name it and pick its conditions — returning visitor, mobile device, Instagram source. You also choose whether all conditions must hold or just one.

2

Attach it to a section

In the page editor, select a section and set the audience and behaviour in the 'Who sees this?' panel. The rule publishes together with the page.

3

Publish and check it

Publish the page. Open your store in a private window and you are a new visitor; open it normally and you are a returning one — the difference is immediate.

4

See how far it reached

The Insights screen shows how many times each audience was actually served personalized content. A zero means the audience is unused, inactive, or nobody matched its conditions.

FAQ

Common questions

Before you start personalizing

No. A/B testing splits your traffic in two and measures statistically which design wins. Personalization does not split anything: it looks at who someone is and shows the content that fits — the result is always the same for the same visitor, with no randomness. The Insights screen reports how often content was shown, not which version won.

Make your storefront fit the visitor

Define an audience once and use it across every page. If no rule matches, the visitor sees your default content anyway — there is no downside.
