How to set up a loyalty points programme
Let customers earn points on orders and redeem them for discount coupons; configure stars & gift mode, per-product rates and sign-up bonuses.
Loyalty Points accrues points against every lira a customer spends and turns those points back into a discount. Two numbers define the whole programme: the earn rate multiplies the order total, and the point value converts points back into a discount. For businesses like coffee shops there is also a stars & gift mode — the customer collects stars instead of points and a gift appears at a threshold.
Antes de empezar
- A panel account that can see the loyalty settings
- A decision on how much you want to give back (say 1% of turnover)
- The products you will give away, if you plan to use gift mode
Pasos
Las pantallas son ilustrativas; los datos de tu panel serán distintos.
Paso 1: Turn the programme on
Open Customers > Loyalty Points and click Edit. In Program & redemption, Loyalty program enabled is the master switch — turn the program off to stop points accruing on new orders. Points → coupon redemption separately decides whether a customer may convert the points they have collected into a discount coupon.

The two fields under Earning & redemption are the programme's arithmetic. Points earned per spend (1 ₺ = ? points) multiplies the order total; Point value (1 point = ? ₺ discount) converts points back into a discount. Minimum points to redeem is the floor a customer must reach before cashing in — set it too low and every customer mints a few-kuruş coupon.

Under Expiry & coupons, Points validity (days, 0 = never) decides when points burn — enter 0 and points never expire. Generated coupon validity (days) is the life of the coupon a customer gets when they cash in, and must be at least 1 day.

Bonus points holds two one-off grants. Welcome bonus points is granted once when a customer signs up. Referral bonus points is granted when a referred customer's first order completes — so the referrer earns nothing until the person they invited actually buys something.

With Stars & gift mode on, the customer collects stars instead of points. Default stars (per ₺) sets how fast they accrue, Stars per gift how many earn a gift, and Gift validity (days) how long the gift can be used. Gift label is the name the customer sees on screen.

Under Gift Groups you define product groups giftable at a minimum tier. Give the Group name, pick the Products, and use Minimum tier to restrict which customers qualify; choose All tiers and everyone does. The Earned Gifts list shows who won what and whether it is Available, Redeemed or Expired.

Per-product Earning is the exception to the default rate: enter Points/₺ or Stars/₺ for the products you select, and anything left blank uses the default. Use it to earn faster on high-margin lines, or to zero out earning on goods that are already discounted.

Consejos
The product of the two numbers is your real cost
With an earn rate of 1 and a point value of 0.01, the customer gets 1% of their spend back. Doubling the rate to 2 makes it 2%. Work that product out before launching; the programme runs quietly, so noticing by accident can take months.
Keep the redemption floor meaningful
If Minimum points to redeem is too low, customers mint constant small coupons — your average basket falls and your coupon list bloats. Set the floor so a redemption is worth roughly one basket's discount.
Points that never expire are a liability
Setting points validity to 0 means points never expire. That builds a discount liability that accumulates for years and can be cashed in at any moment. A year keeps customers coming back and keeps your books predictable.
Preguntas frecuentes
- If I turn the programme off, are existing points deleted?
- No. Turning Loyalty program enabled off only stops points accruing on new orders; balances and points history stay exactly as they are. If you also want to stop redemptions, switch Points → coupon redemption off as well.
- Should I use points or stars?
- Points suit stores that want a discount proportional to spend: the customer converts points into a coupon. Stars & gift mode suits a fixed reward — a certain number of stars yields a concrete product. For cafés, bakeries and salons, where visits repeat often, gift mode is easier for customers to follow.
- Why is the referral bonus not granted immediately?
- Referral bonus points is granted when a referred customer's first order completes. Granting it at sign-up would let anyone farm bonuses by opening fake accounts; tying it to an order removes that.
- I do not want a particular product to earn points
- Enter 0 for that product's Points/₺ under Per-product Earning. Leaving the field blank applies the default rate — you have to write 0 explicitly to zero it out.
