GuideWhat to know when setting up your first e-commerce site
What do you really need for a first store?
Four things are enough for a first store: an orderly catalogue of what you sell, a way to take card payment, a shipping arrangement that gets the order to the customer, and, when needed, the ability to issue documents. Everything else can be added later.
So in the first days, do not think about campaigns, newsletters or advanced reports. First set up the whole path of one product: it is found on the site, added to the basket, paid for, handed to the carrier, and the customer is told. When you test this chain end to end with a single trial order, most of the store is ready. You grow the rest as orders arrive, according to your need.
Product logic: why is a variant what you sell?
In MağazamHazır a product is a heading; the real record that carries the price, stock and images is the variant. Even a product with one size and one colour has a variant. Blue M and black L are two separate variants of the same product, and each one's stock is tracked independently.
Knowing this difference from the start prevents stock mistakes and explains most of the "I added the product but it does not show on the site" problem. The description, category and brand are shared by all variants; price and stock belong to the variant. If you have many products, a bulk import from a spreadsheet arrives with variants and saves you from entering them one by one.
How are card payment and shipping connected?
To take card payments you need a payment provider. The Payment Integrations plugin is free in every store and iyzico is the one supported today; 3D Secure, instalments and refunds come with it. Once your account is approved, you enter the keys in the panel and try it with a test payment.
On the shipping side, Shipping Integrations create a shipment from the order in one click, produce the label and write the tracking information onto the order. Entering weight or volume data on your products is needed for pricing. Once these two connections are made, your store can take and ship real orders.
Before going live, place a small order with your own card and watch the whole flow: the payment page, the confirmation message, the order arriving in the panel and the shipping label. If a step snags, you see it rather than a customer, and you walk into the first real order with confidence.
How do you reward and keep your first customers?
In a new store the first sales often come from people you know and from social media. The plain way to reward them is a coupon: you create a percentage or fixed-amount code, set the usage limit and the end date, and if you wish issue one for a specific customer.
Communication after the order matters just as much. WhatsApp Notifications send the confirmation, shipping and delivery messages on their own, and a reminder can go to a customer who left their basket. The customer does not write to ask where the order is, and you do not repeat the same answer all day.
In a small business the customer relationship is largely the attention you show. Tying a coupon to an occasion such as a birthday or a first purchase, watching how the code is used from its usage history and repeating what works is a plainer start than building an expensive campaign.
What does moving from a marketplace to your own site involve?
If you sell on a marketplace, opening your own store does not mean leaving it; it is an extra way to draw customers to your own site. Marketplace Product Import brings the products you sell there into your store in one go, with variant, image and price details.
After the order comes the paperwork. E-Invoice Integration automatically creates e-Fatura, e-Arşiv and e-İrsaliye documents for every order, and you choose your provider in the panel. That keeps the whole chain, from product entry to invoice, in one panel; you do not log into a separate program and retype the same details for the document.
You do not have to give up your marketplace sales. Starting with a small selection in your own store and steering returning customers to your site is the realistic way to shift, over time, more of your sales to a channel you control.
